December may be the best time to visit Cambodia

If you're considering visiting Cambodia, this December may be the best time to come. Why?

1. Low season - Plane ticket prices are the among the lowest of the year.

2. Declining gasoline prices - Declining gas prices may push plane fares even lower.

3. Kids' winter vacation - In most places in the US, kids get a two- to three-week Christmas/New Year vacation before they get back in for the next semester. This gives you a window to take your kids to see and experience their heritage.

If you wait till they get out of school during the summer, not only will you have to pay double for plane fares, but the heat here will be unbearable for children accustomed to air-conditioned homes, restaurants and public facilities.

4. Cambodia's weather is just perfect in December. It's not rainy or hot, so you can visit Angkor Wat and travel outdoors for extended periods comfortably.

Anyway, just some suggestions from someone who has lived in both the US and Cambodia.

I have to disagree with the part about the low season and the low airfair price cuz December is high season here. All the hotels jack up their price by atleast 20% of the regular cost and also airfare ticket is the highest of the year.
