Cambodia's mobile subscribers surpassed the country's estimated population in November, according to data obtained yesterday by the Post. The Kingdom had 14.96 million subscribers in November, the data showed. The CIA World Factbook estimated Cambodia's population at 14.7 million people in July.

Cheam Yeap, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and CPP spokesman, said the Senate election was an evaluation for commune council elections in June and that the commune elections would be an evaluation for parliamentary elections in 2013.

PHNOM PENH, Jan 30 (Bernama) –- The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) gained a majority of the votes in the country's Senate elections, receiving up to 77.81 percent, according to preliminary results provided by the National Election Committee (NEC) of Cambodia on Sunday.
